Yaniv Schonfeld is an interdisciplinary artist who creates work that explores the relationship between the artistic experience of the audience, technology, and music. With a background in theater and experimental art and conceptual art, Yaniv's primary practice is in music and new media. He draws inspiration from various sources such as mythologies, existential theater, and all forms of music. In his work, Yaniv utilizes self-constructed instruments, technology, and a blend of various art forms to create unique and immersive experiences that challenge the audience's expectations. His music background is an integral part of his practice, as he has created musical work and devices for many art works, commissions and soundtracks for movies. Lately, Yaniv has been exploring the use of machine learning tools for generating text and images, which has opened up new possibilities for his practice.
In addition to his artistic practice, Yaniv also teaches at Musrara School of Art where he shares his expertise and experience with technology-driven projects and new media art with his students. He is also a musician, and a guitarist for the band Parve and also a replacement guitarist for SEVEL. He is constantly exploring and experimenting with different forms of music to create a unique sound.
